Swooning with Little Yellow Bicycle

Little Yellow Bicycle has created the loveliest wedding collection called Swoon.  For this project, I created a traditional layout of getting ceremony and wedding party photos scrapped on the same page.    I love the foiling on this background paper with the "Happily Ever After" banner and wanted to make sure that I did not cover it up, so I blocked my photos in a square pattern below the sentiment.  The pop of color from the photos really stands out nicely from this creamy monotone collection.
I added a photo of my husband and I signing the marriage certificate to "seal the deal."  I also wanted to tie the green colors from my wedding party into the page, so I added some green velvet floss from RG to my page.  I used my Martha Stewart Cherish punch to create the border and since it already has tiny holes punched into the border, it was easy to add the stitching.

The chipboard shapes in this collection are so beautiful and have a lot of detail.  I used this larger piece for my title and to offset the squared design of my layout.

Swoon Products:
SW-102 Happily Ever After - single-sided with foil accents
SW-109 Wedding Words/Modern Elegance
SW-104 Kiss the Bride/Kiss the Groom
SW-279 Chipboard Shapes (30 pieces)
SW-134 Journaling Cards - with thermography (10 pieces)
SW-140 Cardstock Stickers - Fresh Verse™ - with thermography and embossing (72 pieces)
SW-195 Dimensional Stickers (9 pieces)
SW-197 Pearl & Jewel Stickers (60 pieces)

Sunday Sketch April 15th

Let's work on some layering this week.  I like the idea of a hint of a frame tucked behind a busy patterned paper behind a simple patterned paper with designs in the corner like the Simple Stories papers below.  I also like to include 6 x 6 papers with a smaller pattern.  It's officially Spring, so the sketch includes butterflies and flowers.
This page of my husband and daughter was created with the Simple Stories Fabulous collection.  However, for a more defined title, I used the Documented collection's cardstock sticker alphabets.  There are tiny white polka dots on the letters, but the letters still stand out against the ledger style paper.  The hint of the bright floral paper in the background as the frame is meant to pull the simple design together.
I love how pop dots work with the cardstock stickers.  This arrow was such a cute little sentiment included in the Fabulous collection.  I also added a tiny bit of journaling in my own handwriting directly on the paper.

Have a great week!

Easter Fun

My two little munchkins on Easter.  They found some fun spring buckets, participated in an "over in the blink of an eye" egg hunt and then a more extended bubble making challenge.
There was so much candy in the egg hunt, that the spring buckets were more about new duds, books and a little stuffed bunny - which both kids insist on sleeping with.
It's true that the larger faster child will collect more eggs, but we did implement a 30 second head start rule for the little ones.
The bubble challenge was a big hit...for all age groups!

Hope you all had a nice Easter too!

New Little Yellow Bicycle Design Team

2012 Little Yellow Bicycle
 Biker Chick Design Team
We have a new Biker Chick team at Little Yellow Bicycle! We have always been a little on the small side, but we added 5 new members to our existing team of 4 and now we are 9 Biker Chicks strong. I''m very excited about the new members and happy to be leading the charge as the DT Coordinator for LYB.

New Members

This page was created with the Saturdays collection.  Had this photo of my daughter hanging upside down and thought is was a fun interpretation of hanging around on a "Saturday."  Plus she just makes this collection look happy.
I think the felt flowers in this collection are exquisite!  I could not imagine a lovelier shade of red and the flower button brad is a really classy touch and ties the felt and burlap together perfectly.
Saturdays comes with some really fun stick pins.  This is a cluster of chipboard shapes, felt flowers, stick pins and dimensional stickers.
The tear out tickets are really versatile.  You can use them to journal with or add them as an embellishment like I did with this tag.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Sunday Sketch April 1st

Another Sunday, another sketch! Let's try three different sized photos this week and put them at interesting angles.  Find some fun tags and stickers for a little added detail, but mostly keep is simple.
I am totally smitten with 7 Gypsies Postale Collection.  There is something about that red, white, and blue with a little bit of grunge that really makes a travel page.  This is my sister and brother-in-law traveling through Italy a few years ago.  They had such a great time and saw so many cool sites and of course got to ride in Gondolas in Venice.
I had some of these Jillibean Soup baggage tags hanging around in my stash and thought it was a nice addition to the Postale Collection.  Can't go wrong with cardstock stickers and pop dots in my book.
I like the 7 Gypsies super blocky and small alphabet stickers that come with this Postale collection.  They were a great size for the title and really stand out on the page.
These little sticker phrases are a fun journal addition.  I figure I can send this page to my sister and she can add more personalized journaling when she is ready.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!
